Progress report week 21

While we were away at Revive! the builders continued with the plastering. They plastered the top landing, I would have loved to see how they managed that it is high above the stairs and has so many awkward angles and surfaces. They also plastered the small landing between Beth's room and the study and rough plastered the underside of the new stairs.

Progress report week 20

We were rather busy with some guests this week so very little was blogged during the week! The scaffolding came down so it looks like a proper house now! Yeah. They also plastered the study, the bathroom and room that the girls were sleeping in! so the girls moved into the old spare room for the last couple of nights.

Progress report week 19

This week has been plasterboard, plasterboard, paint, plasterboard and ...etc. Tuesday Paul, Beth and Isaac came round to help us with some painting. Thursday homegroup came round for a social time and knocked the partition out between the kitchen and the dining area. Friday the builders have put up the last of the partition walls. It's all really taking shape now.

Progress report week 18

This week has been another productive one. We spent Tuesday sorting through reclamation yards to find doors to match the ones we have. The builders have mostly done plastering and plasterboarding through the house but they have also knocked the last hole in the house ( in the hall) I am hoping that I haven't forgotten any holes that need doing.

Progress report week 17

Monday the builders spent the day knocking holes in our house and adding windows at the front and back. They also started on the new living room.
Tuesday they made more holes in the house, taking out the whole of the corner of the house downstairs! (It's a good job they had put lots of steel in here and here beforehand.)
Wednesday the electrician put in lots of wires, Chris did lots of plumbing, more stud walls appeared and generally everything in the living room floor has been made ready for the flooring.
Thursday the first coat of render went on the outside and the walls went up in the loft room.
Friday The builders have insulated under the floor downstairs with chicken wire and fluff so at least we know that the new rooms are chicken proof. The floor has gone down today and the loft has had its ceiling plastered and some of the remaining walls. There is just the wardrobe and the tiny prayer room to plaster. Outside the renderer has done the front and the back upstairs so hopefully the roof at the back will be tiled next week.

There are too many photos to put on this post but for more photos see the hall , the new living room, the loft, the utility room , the new front bedroom , the study, the breakfast room
