The family together

Most of my side of the family together again. Chris is in Bristol, Ben and family are in Holland and unfortunately we didn't manage to get the photo of everyone before Paul and Tami had to leave (the slight rain kept us in close company under the gazebo for a while.)

20 20 Cricket

Last year it rained so much that we got a free ticket for this year!
It did try to rain.. just enough to cool a very hot day.
Gloucestershire lost!!!!

Watering girls or the garden?

What else would you do on a hot day but water the garden, or was that the children we were watering?

Peter Pan

Peter Pan has flown into Kensington Gardens and we went to visit. We went into the tube from bright sunshine and by the time we emerged it was threatening to chuck a whole cloud on us at high speed. We found some covered seats and within 5 minutes it happened. Loads of people joined us in our little covered area, while the rain fell.
Peter Pan started at 7.30 but the children (and adults, if truth be told) were so enthralled by the whole thing that they didn't fall asleep. The scenery was a mix of solid props, trap doors and 360 degree projection. David, Kori, Dad, Rebekah, Soli and Felix all came back in a car, with the children asleep, while Beth, Mum and I came back on the train. It was a huge adventure and everyone finally reached their beds at midnight exactly!!!

Progress report week 15

Week 15 and we are watertight in our main roof again. YEAH

Ridge tiles on the roof, tiles on the dormer and the bathroom marked out inside, it's all starting to take shape now.

When the builders turned up on Tuesday morning with LOADS of dust sheets I was rather concerned. I decided they were obviously going to knock holes in the ceiling. I was right!!!! They've also removed the cupboard at the top of the stairs (and put something there to stop the children falling down the stairs in the night!). Lots of noise and dust followed but the builders have done a great job of clearing up after themselves.
The ceiling now has plasterboard over most of it.
Next week, internal walls.
