Little Haven

We spent the day in Little Haven enjoying the beach and the rock pools then Hazel came to join us for the evening. This became a general pattern for the holiday really.

Packing up

Packing up is always an interesting process and we'd forgotten how much harder it is when there are very little people around as they take a certain amount of looking after. We took Isaac for a little walk to collect elderflower while some clearing and lunch making was going on back at camp.

Yosemite Day 3

Our final day in Yosemite was again beautiful, cold and full of waterfalls. Once we had eaten breakfast, inside in the warm, we went to Yosemite falls and then on for a picnic just next to el Capitain. We then drove onto Al and Carol's cabin to clean up, warm up and rest.

Yosemite Day 2

After a night tucked up under the heaviest pile of blankets I've slept under since I was a small child we were roused by the Becker Alarm..."knock, knock, anyone want to see a bear?" There was a relatively small bear out by the car park. Beth was the only one to jump out of bed at any speed but she took the camera. We all followed fairly soon and so saw our first (and only) wild bear.
Our morning walk took us to Mirror lake then after lunch back at the camping village we went to Vernal Falls. They were both spectacularly beautiful in their own way.
John, Chris, Anna, Kayleigh, Asher and Beth climbed up the mist trail to the top of Vernal falls, due to snow and ice they decided not to come back the same way but ended up on a very long walk round another trail. They did brilliantly and saw some beautiful sights. They were all ready to drop into bed that night.
