Camel park

Our last day. We left the apartment at 10am so spent the day nearish to the car containing our case (the car was two small to put it in the boot) But a trip to the camel park with a ride and swim thrown in was a fun way to spend the day on the way to the airport.

Mosques and Churches

We visited a few places including a mosque and 2 churches and the salt lake which is next to the airport.

Troodos Mountains

We took our car up to the Troodos. The weather wasn't actually too great so we missed some of the views due to the cloud cover.
On the way up we stopped at the Green Valley Waterfall. The guy who owns the land charges 5 Euros for going to see the waterfall. He encouraged us to have a drink at the restaurant before walking down to the waterfall. When we got there we found out why. The waterfall had virtually no water coming down. As Chris was standing there for a photo we heard the sound of a water pump and the water coming over the fall increased. Another minute or two and the water increased again. It is advertised as a place which has a beautiful, handcrafted trail down to the waterfall. It's definitely handcrafted and it's definitely down to the waterfall but it's not beautiful. It looks like something a child would start to make as their den but this has obviously gone on for many years. There was even a Christmas tree still there in September, looking decidedly dodgy and dead.
The second waterfall we visited was beautiful, not enhanced by a water pump and was free to visit. It was great and so amazing.

Aiga Napa and Farmagusta

We met up with Pam and Phil, I work with Pam. We had a lovely day in our tiny little car travelling to the East to look over Farmagusta which was in the centre of the war in 1974 and it is still a ghost town. No one goes in or out except the Turkish military. After a drink back at Pam and Phil's hotel we had a lovely meal after a glorious sunset.
