Martin and Rachel (my cousin) came to stay for the night, it is their oldest son's (Samuel) 10th birthday tomorrow. His birthday treat was a trip to Longleat. We were invited to join them and obviously felt it would be so rude not to!!! We had a FANTASTIC day seeing all the animals and generally having a great time.
We even squeezed all the children (5 of them) into the boot of our (estate) car while we went round the safari park. Not sure what they enjoyed more, seeing the animals or sitting in the boot!

Weekend with David and Kori
David, Kori and the boys came to stay for a night. We had masses of fun and the children spent lots of time on the trampoline.

Felix had a good go at blowing bubbles with mixed success.

Beth read the bedtime stories to the younger children. It made her feel very grown up.

Decorating in a caravan!
Chris has the job of removing all the rotton wood and replacing it with good sound wood, This he has done, and done it very well. That side of the caravan should now outlast the rest of it! However, it is my job to sort out the decorating. I allowed Rebekah to choose the "wallpaper" as it would be beside her bed and this is what we ended up with.

It's all very in keeping with the age of the caravan. I think the girls may do some pictures to stick on the areas which aren't quite so flowery!!

Finally the bunk bed has gone back up.

All our decorating efforts aren't visible when the caravan is packed ready for towing!

inside the wardrobe next!

Caravan part 3
Phase 1 approaches completion. The new wooden frame work is glued and screwed in place ... the polystyrene insulation replaced and plywood facing applied to the inside. For good measure I put a sheet of damp proof layer material between the wood and the aluminium outside. Sarah has bought some coloured stickyback plastic (aka Blue Peter style) to decorate the plywood. Once that is done the bunkbed can go back up! That just leaves the front half of the caravan to do + the wardrobe!

Caravan rebuild part 2
see this post here for previous installment of the story
Strip out the rotten stuff and rebuild with decking wood.

Get out the power tools! Had to buy a circular saw and jigsaw .. what a shame! well combined with the router and planer I made a good collection of tailor made framework.

wedding clothes
When going to a wedding I persuaded Chris into a tie(not a popular move) and then into shoes (rather than trainers) I must admit on this occasion I gave up about the trousers, but he then went back for a jacket (excellent thought I). I looked at the jacket once we were part way there, to discover it was his dinner jacket. So to sum up DJ, shoes, tie, shirt and combat trousers. True sartorial elegance.
Unfortunately as we had forgotten the camera I will have to pinch other people's photos for photos of Alex and Mari (whos wedding it was)
